The “Community Meetup: zkSync Thailand Insider Talk,” held on December 16, 2023, was a relaxed, informative and fun event, focusing on the developments in the zkSync ecosystem. It marked a significant step in bringing together enthusiasts and experts in blockchain technology in Thailand.
At the event, Mr. England, one of the zkStar members and sisyfos, Community Manager at Matter Labs, shared their insights about the ZK Credo, the ZK Stack, and zkSync Era. Their talks provided attendees with a deeper understanding of zkSync and its role in blockchain technology.
During the meetup, sisyfos delved into the values underpinning the development of zkSync, a groundbreaking technology aimed at enhancing the efficiency and user-experience of Ethereum. He introduced the ZK Credo (Thai link: https://github.com/zksync/credo/blob/main/README_TH.md), a set of principles serving as the foundation of the Internet of Value. Further, he discussed the ZK Stack, a developer friendly modular framework that makes it easy for anyone to customize & deploy an interoperable ZK-powered blockchains.
A key distinction of zkSync, as explained by sisyfos, is its use of zero-knowledge proofs technology for its rollup design. This feature ensures security through mathematical verification rather than relying on social consensus. Additionally, zkSync’s Native Account Abstraction offers users the flexibility to pay gas fees with their preferred tokens or for projects to subsidize the gas fees of their users.
Mr. England provided an in-depth introduction to zkSync, highlighting the recent advancements from Matter Labs and the introduction of a new contribution system. He proudly shared that zkSync Lite, initially launched in 2020, achieved the capability of processing 300 transactions per second (TPS), significantly outpacing Ethereum’s capacity at the time, and Matter Labs successfully attracted funding of up to $458 million from leading crypto investors.
Emphasizing the robustness of zkSync, Mr. England pointed out its full on-chain data availability, allowing for comprehensive historical data access and enhanced security.
The event also included a networking session, offering attendees the opportunity to engage, exchange ideas, and foster future collaborations with peers sharing similar interests.
We had like 60 people show up, which is pretty cool. It’s clear folks are really getting into blockchain and all that Layer. It was just a bunch of tech heads hanging out, sharing what they know, and maybe cooking up some new projects. It’s great seeing everyone so pumped about blockchain.
Massive thanks from us at Enter to Start! Keep your eyes peeled on our socials for the deets on the next meetup. Can’t wait to catch you all again soon!”
